Saints' Michael Thomas (knee) expected to miss 'some time'
New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen confirmed Monday that wide receiver Michael Thomas (knee) is expected to miss "some time".
Thomas is a potential injured reserve candidate with his mysterious knee injury, but Allen did not comment on whether or not that was a possibility the team was considering. The former All-Pro receiver is expected to miss at least a few weeks with the injury he suffered just before the team's Week 11 bye, opening up an opportunity for rookie receiver A.T. Perry to make an impact.
Perry caught a touchdown after Thomas was forced off the field and finished the day with 2 catches for 38 yards and that score. He appeared to be an almost one-for-one replacement for Thomas, reaching a season-high in snaps (84%) while efficient playmaker Rashid Shaheed's role remained stable but part-time.
