Chiefs' Jerick McKinnon (groin) lands on injured reserve ahead of Week 16
The Kansas City Chiefs have placed running back Jerick McKinnon (groin) on the injured reserve ahead of their Week 16 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
McKinnon's regular season is now effectively over, as he will be required to miss at least four games on the injured reserve, but the veteran back could still return for the Chiefs in the playoffs. His absence could open up extra touches for Clyde Edwards-Helaire behind Isiah Pacheco down the stretch.
McKinnon has operated primarily as a receiving back with the Chiefs, with more receptions (25) than rush attempts (21) on the year. With him sidelined, Pacheco could pick up a couple extra targets per game in the fantasy playoffs.
