49ers' Bruce Ellington poised for breakout in 2016
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Bruce Ellington is in "excellent position" to be a "breakout player" on offense, the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows believes.
Head coach Chip Kelly has been fixated on Ellington ever since he took over in San Francisco. Small, but quick, Ellington has the ability to line up in the backfield and play the slot. It's not out of the question that Ellington leads the team in catches this season with Torrey Smith operating as the deep threat on the outside.
Our algorithms still aren't too fond of Ellington, projecting him for 22 receptions for 240 yards and 1.22 touchdowns in 2016.
