Colts' Frank Gore will not have a cap on his carries

Indianapolis Colts running back Frank Gore's weekly carries will be managed based on "feel" this season, offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski says.

What It Means:

There will be no "pitch count" for Gore, which means he'll likely get as many carries as he can handle assuming he stays effective. "I don't like the word 'pitch count,'" said Chudzinski. "But I think we have to be smart in making sure that we have a rotation that keeps (Gore) fresh and effective throughout the course of the season. What that is in numbers isn't as important." This essentially means that the Colts will ride Gore into the ground as a true lead back in 2016. His ADP puts him in the sixth or seventh round of single-season leagues.

Gore had a -0.11 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per carry rate in 2015, which ranked 40th among the 44 running backs with at least 100 attempts last year. Our models currently project him to log 814 yards on 219 attempts with 4.90 touchdowns in 2016, good for 27th in the league.
