Case Keenum still ahead of Jared Goff for Rams' quarterback spot
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Case Keenum is still ahead of first overall pick Jared Goff on the Rams' depth chart, according to head coach Jeff Fisher.
There have been reports that Keenum has a real chance to open the regular season as the Rams' starter, and Jeff Fisher electing to go with a player who has established himself as mediocre, instead of taking a risk on a player that the team traded up, for shouldn't come as much of a surprise at all.
Keenum has never finished a season above the league average in Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per dropback, and isn't likely to do much to help a Rams offense that finished last in the league in schedule-adjusted Passing NEP in 2015. Our models do expect Goff to end up starting, and we project him to post 3,756 yards with 19.90 touchdowns and 14.53 interceptions during his rookie campaign.
