Jamaal Charles a 'stretch' for Chiefs in Sunday's opener
Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles (ACL) is not expected to play on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
"I think it's a stretch for him to play on Sunday," Reid admitted. This has been the expectation based off last week's reports and Charles is by no means a lock for Week 2. He should be considered week-to-week moving forward, while Spencer Ware is a firm RB2 with RB1 upside while Charles is out. Charcandrick West should also see some action.
Prior to Reid's comments, our models projected Ware to see 8 rushes for 36 yards and 0.38 touchdowns against the Chargers in Week 1, adding 2 catches with 14 yards through the air.
