Keenan Allen's season over for Chargers after tearing ACL
San Diego Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen suffered a torn right ACL Sunday in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, reports Alex Marvez of The Sporting News.
Everyone's worst fears have been confirmed after Allen went down with the non-contact injury just prior to the half. He missed the final eight games of the 2015 season with a lacerated kidney and he will now be sidelined for all of 2016. Travis Benjamin and Dontrelle Inman will likely see the biggest boost in targets, while Danny Woodhead and Antonio Gates should see an uptick as well. Tyrell Williams is also worth keeping an eye on.
The 24-year-old wide receiver is an elite talent and was off to a phenomenal start, accumulating 6.98 Receiving Net Expected Points. He secured six of his seven targets for 63 yards against Chiefs All-Pro Marcus Peters.
