Thomas Rawls named Seahawks' starter for Week 2
Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls will start Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams, head coach Pete Carroll announced on Wednesday.
Christine Michael started in Week 1, rushing for 66 yards on 15 carries (4.4 yards per carry). Rawls only managed 24 yards on 11 attempts (2.2 yards per carry), but the Seahawks apparently saw enough to make him the starter between the two. Michael is still expected to have a role, but is no longer a reliable option in fantasy lineups. Rawls is back on the RB2 map.
Among the 44 running backs to see at least five carries in Week 1, Rawls ranked 37th in Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play while Michael finished at 19th. The Rams defense gave up three rushing touchdowns to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night.
