Sammy Watkins (foot) lands on Bills' injured reserve
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins (foot) was placed on injured reserve.
Watkins was already ruled out for Week 4 and it didn't sound like he was going to be effective anytime soon, despite reports claiming it was merely an issue of pain management, rather than a structural problem. He will be eligible to return Week 12 at earliest. LeSean McCoy is the only playmaker on a Buffalo offense in dire need of talent. Justin Hunter was signed to provide depth behind Robert Woods and Marquise Goodwin.
Among the 93 wide receivers to have seen at least 10 targets this season, Watkins ranks 68th with 0.53 Reception Net Expected Points per target.
