Cam Newton participated in some drills at Panthers' Monday practice
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (concussion) was a limited participant at Monday's practice, taking part in some football-specific drills, per head coach Ron Rivera.
This is a good sign for Newton, and barring any setbacks he should make it through the concussion protocol this week in time to play against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Newton had a rough start to the season, and ranks 23rd in Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per dropback (minimum 100). A Week 6 return could help him get back on track though, as it would be against a Saints' defense that ranks 27th Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play.
