Falcons' Austin Hooper draws start for Week 9
Atlanta Falcons rookie tight end Austin Hooper will start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9, head coach Dan Quinn confirmed.
With Jacob Tamme (shoulder) already ruled out for Thursday night, it'll be Hooper followed up by blocking specialist Levine Toilolo and undrafted rookie Josh Perkins. Tamme went down in the first quarter of Week 8, and Hooper went on to play 73 percent of the snaps. Hooper has reeled in all 12 of his targets on the season for 195 yards and a score. Hooper has shown elite agility and speed for a tight end.
Hooper earned 1.74 Net Expected Points on five targets in Week 8, per numberFire Live.
