Broncos expected to give Kapri Bibbs more work
Denver Broncos running back Kapri Bibbs could supplant Devontae Booker as the team's lead back in Week 10, believes NBC Denver.
Longtime beat writer Mike Klis believes "(the) ratio figures to change in Bibbs' favor versus New Orleans" after Booker played 46-of-56 snaps against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday night, compared to nine for Bibbs. Booker out-touched Bibbs 11-3, as well. Head coach Gary Kubiak said Bibbs had earned more work, but it would be a surprise to see an outright changing of the guard, rather than a split committee. Booker has struggled to just 2.62 yards per carry on 29 attempts in the past two weeks since replacing C.J. Anderson as Denver's starter.
Bibbs earned 0.64 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) on a pair of carries in Week 9, versus -3.20 Rushing NEP (10 carries) for Booker, according to numberFire Live. Bibbs also led the Broncos with 6.21 Reception NEP -- all coming on an impressive 69-yard catch-and-run touchdown -- on one catch during the 30-20 loss to Raiders on Sunday Night Football.
