Buccaneers to activate Charles Sims (knee) from injured reserve
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will activate running back Charles Sims from the I.R./return list this week, head coach Dirk Koetter said Monday.
If Sims is in shape -- he has spent the last two months recovering from a knee injury -- he should step in as the Bucs' primary passing-game and catch-up back. Sims' activation will occur after a game where Doug Martin missed the final three drives, and the team lost wide receivers Cecil Shorts (knee) and Adam Humphries (concussion) to injuries.
Prior to his injury, Sims earned -0.19 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt on 41 rushing attempts.
