David Johnson won't play in early season if he misses camp
Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians is unhappy with the amount of time that running backs Andre Ellington and David Johnson, a rookie, have missed in training camp because of injuries.
Arians said that the lack of playing time for Johnson in camp is "killing him." Arians added, "There's no way in hell I'm putting him out there" if he were to miss training camp. Johnson is currently dealing with a Grade 2 hamstring injury. The team has offered former Tennessee Titan and New York Jet Chris Johnson a one-year contract.
Last year, Ellington recorded the worst Rushing Net Expected Points score of any player in the league, which means that he lost more points from his team's expected output than any other player in terms of rushing. Opportunity was and still is there for Johnson, so it's paramount that he returns soon.
