Robert Hughes to be Arizona's short-yardage back
Arizona Cardinals running back Robert Hughes is expected to be the team's short-yardage back this year, according to beat writer Mike Jurecki.
The backfield situation is murky, as Andre Ellington and David Johnson are underwhelming head coach Bruce Arians. The team has offered Chris Johnson a one-year contract. If Hughes maintains short-yardage duties, then solving this equation for fantasy football purposes just got even harder.
Last year, Hughes ran the ball only seven times but managed to lose 4.08 points for the Cardinals, according to our Rushing Net Expected Points metric. Only three other backs managed to lose more points on so few carries.
