Bills' Stephon Gilmore aiming for $14 million annually

Buffalo Bills impending free agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore is aiming for $14 million-plus annually on the open market, PFT's Mike Florio reports.

What It Means:

Gilmore wants more than Janoris Jenkins got last offseason ($12.5 million) and more than the $14 million Richard Sherman received in 2014. Gilmore is probably looking to set a new bar for cornerbacks, though Patrick Peterson's $15 million will be a daunting mark to hurdle. Gilmore turns 27 this year and is drawing significant interest from the Chicago Bears. He's unlikely to re-sign with the Bills.

The Bills only finished 20th in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play last season, but Gilmore was easily one of the strongest pieces in that unit.
