Chris Johnson signs with Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals and running back Chris Johnson have agreed to a one-year, $2 million contract.
Johnson is currently slotted as number two on the Cardinals depth chart at running back behind Andre Ellington. Johnson's presence could cut into Ellington's fantasy value. The Cardinals also have third-round pick David Johnson for depth.
The Cardinals ranked 25th in our schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) metric last season. Johnson ranked 26th among running backs with at least 100 carries, with a -0.05 Rushing NEP per attempt last season. Andre Ellington ranked a disappointing 41st in the same category.
