Rex Burkhead visits Falcons on Saturday
Free agent running back Rex Burkhead visited the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday.
One of the hidden gems of the free agent market, it's Burkhead's first-known visit. Atlanta would be a surprising fit, as the Falcons have one of the game's best-established 1-2 punches at running back. Still, though both Falcons backs can catch passes, but it's Burkhead's specialty; he occasionally lined up in the slot with the Cincinnati Bengals.
60 running backs had at least 70 carries last year, and among them Burkhead's 0.15 Rushing Net Expected Points per carry was third-best. Only LeSean McCoy and Mike Gillislee bested it.
