Jordan Matthews confident he'll be ready for Bills Week 1
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Jordan Matthews (chest) said he is "confident" he will be ready for the first week of the regular season.
"I’m extremely confident that I will be able to play for Week 1,†Matthews stated. He got in extremely limited reps during Sunday's practice, but the fourth-year wideout is still experiencing pain from any sort of "upper body" movement. "It’s more pain management," Matthews said. "Let’s get the pain down and get all functional movement back and then when it’s just that one spot hurting, let’s protect that spot and go play football." Following Anquan Boldin's retirement on Sunday, Matthews should dominate targets from the slot for Buffalo.
Assuming he plays a full 16-game season, numberFire's models project Matthews to catch 68.9 passes for 800.3 receiving yards and 5.57 touchdowns in 2017. He's 38th among all receivers in our fantasy rankings entering the year.
