Jermaine Kearse

Seahawks' Jermaine Kearse traded to the Jets

The Seattle Seahawks have traded wide receiver Jermaine Kearse along with draft considerations to the New York Jets in exchange for defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

What It Means:

Kearse had fallen behind on the Seahawks' receiving depth chart with Doug Baldwin, Paul Richardson, and Tyler Lockett sitting ahead of him. The sixth-year wide out has two years left on a $13.5 million contract he signed with Seattle last summer, prompting the Hawks to part ways. He moves to the Jets who have by far the most inexperienced receiving corp in the league and immediately becomes one of the teams' top two pass catching threats, along with Robby Anderson.

numberFire's models project Kearse for 43.9 catches, 584.4 yards, and 3.2 touchdowns with the Jets this season, making him our 64th-best wide receiver in standard fantasy leagues.
