Cardinals' Bruce Arians: Adrian Peterson will not play on third downs
Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said that newly-acquired back Adrian Peterson will not play on third downs, per Arizona Sports' Mike Jurecki.
On Tuesday, the Cardinals acquired Peterson via trade from the New Orleans Saints and immediately listed him as the starter. However, Arians has made it clear that Andre Ellington, not Peterson, will be the team's third-down back due to his pass-catching ability. Due to that, Peterson's snaps will be somewhat limited, especially if and when the Cardinals are forced to play from behind.
In his team debut against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we project Peterson to produce 38.4 yards, 0.09 touchdowns and 6.4 FanDuel points on 11.0 carries. He comes at a price of $5,000 in Week 6.
