Matt Forte (knee) could be out for Jets past Week 10
New York Jets running back Matt Forte (knee) may be facing a multi-game absence, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York.
"There's concern about him going forward," Cimini writes of Forte's health. The veteran back has already been ruled out against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10, but it sounds like he could be out longer than one game. Forte is optimistic that the swelling in his knee will subside after the Jets' Week 11 bye. For now, Bilal Powell should take over most of Forte's workload while Elijah McGuire backs him up.
Forte has 57 carries for 241 yards and 2 touchdowns with 29 receptions for 222 yards on 32 targets in seven games this season. Among the 49 running backs with at least 50 carries this season, he ranks 11th in terms of Rushing Net Expected Points per carry.
