Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott withdraws appeal, will serve six-game suspension
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is withdrawing his appeal and will begin serving his full six-game suspension, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Elliott's agents told Rapoport that, "after careful deliberation and review of the recent Second Circuit decisions", Elliott decided against further appeals and will serve the remainder of his suspension. Elliott will first be eligible to return on Christmas Eve in Week 16. Barring anything further, this should put the running back's legal saga to rest. Alfred Morris and Rod Smith will continue to hold down the fort in the Dallas backfield.
In his remaining two games, our models project Elliott to total 240.3 yards from scrimmage and 2.04 touchdowns over the remainder of the 2017 season.
