Nick Foles, other Eagles' starters may rest in Week 17
The Philadelphia Eagles may rest some of their starters in Week 17 if they clinch home-field advantage in Week 16, according to head coach Doug Pederson.
"I'm going to be smart about the decisions we make ... getting guys who need the rest, if possible," Pederson said. He added "Ideally, yeah, you'd like to get [rookie quarterback Zach Sudfeld] some time and some reps here in the next couple ballgames." This is still largely dependent on how Week 16 shakes out, but it looks like there would be a good chance that Nick Foles either sits or plays limited snaps in Week 17 if the Eagles clinch, while it wouldn't be surprising to see guys like Zach Ertz and Alshon Jeffery get the week off as well.
The Eagles rank first in numberFire's nERD power rankings, with out models projecting them a 14.6% chance of winning the Superbowl.
