Doug Martin a surprise inactive for the Buccaneers on Monday night
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin will not play versus the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night after reportedly violating team rules.
Martin will sit out the game, making way for rookie Peyton Barber to start in the backfield. Barber already out-touched the under-performing Martin in each of the Buccaneers past two games, making it likely that he will continue to lead the backfield over the remainder of the season with a good performance tonight.
Through 9 games this season, Martin is averaging just 3.1 yards per carry on a total of 129 rushing attempts.
