Broncos' Gary Kubiak says Ronnie Hillman deserves more touches
Denver Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman "deserves more touches," head coach Gary Kubiak said on Sirius XM Radio on Monday.
Since the preseason, Hillman has looked like the Broncos' best back, while C.J. Anderson has struggled mightily. After Hillman broke a 72-yard touchdown run in Sunday's win over Minnesota, Kubiak studied the tape Monday morning and called Hillman the Broncos' "offensive player of the game," before going on the radio and stating Hillman has the "hot hand." Expect Hillman to lead Denver's backfield in touches this week against the Raiders.
Through three weeks, Anderson is next to last among running backs with at least 15 carries in Rushing Net Expected Points with a mark of -10.07. Hillman's mark of -0.70 ranks 20th.
