Broncos rule out Peyton Manning for Week 11
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning (foot) has been ruled out for Week 11.
"This week, Peyton is not going to play," were Denver coach Gary Kubiak's words as he opened his Monday press conference. Not only has Manning been ineffective this year -- he leads the NFL with 17 interceptions -- he is dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot, in addition to a painful rib injury. If Brock Osweiler plays well Sunday against the Chicago Bears, it would not be surprising to see Osweiler make future starts despite Kubiak's claim that Peyton would be the starter whenever healthy.
In relief of Manning on Sunday, Osweiler went 14-of-24 passing for 146 yards, one touchdown and an interception while absorbing three sacks. He makes for an interesting streamer option this week as Chicago ranks 29th in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play.
