3 Daily Fantasy Hockey Stacks for 1/5/17
Los Angeles Kings
Players to target: Tanner Pearson, Jeff Carter, and Drew Doughty
Either one of the top two lines is in play tonight, but with Anze Kopitar's line usually getting a tougher matchup, this is a prime spot for the Los Angeles Kings' second line. They come into tonight after winning two straight over the San Jose Sharks, and they're facing a Red Wings team on the wrong end of a back-to-back set.
Detroit is already one of the worst possession teams in the league (47.9 Corsi For Percentage), and the Kings rank second in the league at 54.1. The Kings should dominate this game.
Carter's trio is playing an up-tempo style at 69.9 Corsi For per 60 minutes, and Carter himself is on fire, posting 9 points in his last seven games. In a 4-1 win against the Red Wings in their last meeting, Carter was held off the scoresheet but posted a plus-2 rating. Look for Carter to be a threat tonight at even strength and the power play. Carter and Pearson should face off against the bottom three lines for Detroit, all of which are beatable counterparts.
This stack may be a little higher owned, but it is going to be a tough one to pass on in such a favorable spot against a mediocre team with below-average goaltending (Petr Mrazek and Jimmy Howard both own an 80% High Danger Save Percentage).
