3 Daily Fantasy Hockey Stacks for 3/2/17
Ottawa Senators
Players to target: Derick Brassard, Mark Stone, and Erik Karlsson
Whenever the Colorado Avalanche are playing, it is a good idea to take a long look at the opposing team for DFS stacks. Tonight, the Ottawa Senators will face off against the Avs in what should be a one-sided affair.
While most will look to the top line of Kyle Turris and Mike Hoffman, don't forget about the second line of Brassard and Stone. The second line is the Senators' top possession line (65.7 Corsi For per 60 minutes and a 56.1 Corsi For Percentage with Zack Smith)
The Senators do not tend to do strict line matching at home, but the Brassard line usually sees upwards of 40% of their ice time against their opponent's top line. Against the Avs, this means a likely battle with Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog. With Matthew Nieto as their linemate, MacKinnon and Landeskog are allowing 61.5 Scoring Chances Against per 60 minutes. In practice yesterday, they skated with Blake Comeau, who is a possession downgrade to Nieto.
No matter who they skate with, it is going to be a favorable matchup for the Senators' second line. Brassard and Stone should have many scoring chances at even-strength and will skate with stud defenseman Karlsson on the top power-play unit against Colorado's 77.9% penalty kill.
