Players to target: Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Jake Gardiner

We know the deal with Matthews and Nylander, as they are one of the best combos going in the NHL right now. With Zach Hyman (who is also in play on this short slate), they have posted a 54.8 Corsi For percentage, 59.4 Corsi For per 60 minutes and, most impressively, 4.1 expected Goals For per 60 minutes.

Matthews and company will face off against the new Minnesota Wild featuring Jason Zucker, Eric Staal, and Chris Stewart, who are all sub-50 Corsi For percentage players, with Stewart being under 40 percent. On paper, this projects to be a phenomenal home matchup for Matthews and Nylander at even-strength, and they will be correlated with Gardiner on the power play.
