NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 2/12/19

Artemi Panarin is the target of trade rumors, but can he continue he hot streak with a soft matchup tonight?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel, because it's a ton of fun. And our analysis and projections can help you win.

To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Devan Dubnyk ($8,400): The Minnesota Wild will likely have Dubnyk in net tonight, and they will be facing off against the Philadelphia Flyers, who are on the second night of a back-to-back. Dubnyk and the Wild come in as -165 home favorites and have an implied total set at 3.30, which is the sixth highest on the slate tonight. The Flyers have an implied total set at only 2.70, which is the fifth-lowest on the slate. Dubnyk has come away with the win in four of his last eight starts and has made 29 saves or more in four of those eight starts. He presents a strong cash game option tonight since the floor of saves should be there for him, along with a 68.5% win probability giving him a good shot at coming away with a win. He is one of the more expensive goalies on the slate, but you are paying for the relative safety of a home favorite who is facing off against the Flyers backup goalie, Anthony Stolarz.

High-Priced Skaters

Artemi Panarin ($7,800): There are a ton a trade rumors surrounding the Columbus Blue Jackets and Panarin right now, but that hasn't slowed down his production in recent games. He comes in with 11 points in his last seven games, along with 18 shots in that same span, which should put him in play for all formats tonight. He will be facing off against the Washington Capitals, who are on the second night of a back-to-back and come in with the fourth worst average Corsi Against over the past month, sitting at 51.38. That means the Capitals are giving up an insane amount of shots every game, which presents the opportunity for Panarin and the Blue Jackets offense to score. If you are looking to stack him up tonight for GPPs, look to pair him with Cam Atkinson and Pierre-Luc Dubois on the first forward line.

Mika Zibanejad ($7,500): The New York Rangers might not be the best team in the league, but Zibanejad is providing strong DFS value night in and night out. He has racked up 10 points in his last six games and despite being a +175 road dog, he is in a good spot to continue this hot streak. Tonight, he is up against the Winnipeg Jets, who come in with a 52.17 Corsi Against over the past month, which is the second worst on the entire slate. The Jets have been known for their defense, but that isn't showing right now and they make a good team to attack since they are struggling. Zibanejad is on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, so you are getting good offensive equity for a player who should be driving a large portion of the Rangers offense tonight.

Value Skaters

Jake DeBrusk ($4,300): DeBrusk will be up on the second forward line and the first power-play for the Boston Bruins as of this morning, as David Pastrnak is set to miss two weeks after thumb surgery. He is a clear low floor, high upside play tonight, since his consistency isn't there, but the expanded role in the offense could allow him to exceed value if he grabs a point tonight. The Bruins are facing off against the red hot Chicago Blackhawks, who have won seven games in a row but have still allowed three or more goals in four of those seven games.

J.T. Miller ($3,600): Miller comes in with three points in his last two games and is now up on the top forward line for the Tampa Bay Lightning, who are at home tonight, boasting a strong 3.49 implied team total. He is still also on the first power-play unit, which gets you cheap exposure to both Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov, giving you a high ceiling, along with strong point-per-dollar value. This game has an over-under set at 6.5 goals, so we should be seeing plenty of offense tonight from both teams, making this a great spot to stack for GPPs.
