NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 3/26/19

A balanced seven game slate presents itself on Tuesday. Who all can you trust in NHL DFS?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun. And our analysis and projections can help you win.

To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

John Gibson ($7,700): The Anaheim Ducks are projected to start Gibson against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night. The Ducks' goalie has been a bit cool of late but has five wins in his last six starts. That includes several 35+ save performances sprinkled -- against teams like Colorado and Nashville at that. The Canucks do come off a 5-0 loss at home, where they fired just 21 shots on net, so that may be a concern as far as shot volume goes. However, Vancouver having problems putting the puck in the net is nothing new, which makes Gibson a decent play at a cheaper price. See who Ottawa starts for a true punt play option against an unrested Buffalo Sabres team. Carey Price ($9,200) appears to be the chalk goalie on Tuesday night's slate.

High-Priced Skaters

Connor McDavid ($9,200): McDavid faces a Los Angeles Kings team which was cratered by Calgary on Monday. Only, Jack Campbell saved Los Angeles from getting hammered on the scoreboard (40+ save shutout). McDavid and Leon Draisaitl should have less resistance against Jonathan Quick, who will have a tired Kings squad in front of him. Stranger things have happened, but McDavid has 20+ FanDuel points in three of his last four starts. Don't get too cute here given some of the sludge centers on the slate. Evgeny Kuznetsov ($7,500) and Jonathan Toews ($7,600) could also be viable options on Tuesday night.

Brendan Gallagher ($7,500): This is a game that expects to be entertaining. Florida allowed nearly 40 shots and seven goals again on Monday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs, and their reward is playing Montreal in Montreal tonight. It is uncertain as to who will start for the Panthers. However, they saw nearly 20 high-danger chances in the last two games (six of Toronto's eight high-danger chances went in the net). As for Gallagher, he has fired 39 shots on net in his last nine games (seven real-world points). This is a way to get exposure to Montreal, especially at even-strength where Florida should be gassed on Tuesday night. Draisaitl ($8,200) is difficult to fade, while Alex Ovechkin ($9,100) and Patrick Kane ($8,800) are riskier cash plays on this medium-sized slate.

Value Skaters

Sam Steel ($3,400): Steel is a risky value play on Tuesday night against the Canucks. He plays about 13-14 minutes a night for Anaheim but has been generating 2-3 scoring chances per game of late. He filled in admirably for Ryan Getzlaf on Saturday night. This will be a situation to monitor throughout the evening, and unfortunately we may not have a solution until after lock. However, Steel looked comfortable on the top line at even strength against the Kings, and Vancouver is a team that can give up three goals a game -- even at home. Brad Richardson ($4,100) could be an intriguing choice given he's facing a Chicago Blackhawks team willing to trade scoring chances at a high-event pace (nearly 39 per 60 on the road).

Oliver Bjorkstrand ($4,100): Bjorkstrand has two goals in his last three games, including a five-shot effort against Vancouver. His ice time is up to 14 minutes per contest in the last two games and the production merits a value play. Every game is a must-win for the Columbus Blue Jackets at this point. The New York Islanders will be no pushover, as they allow just 2.41 goals per game on the road (lowest on the slate). However, Columbus has been generating chances, and the Islanders' special teams has gone on vacation in the last 10 games (78% penalty kill). Max Veronneau ($3,400) is at least worth a flier for Ottawa.
