NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 3/27/19

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun. And our analysis and projections can help you win.

To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Philipp Grubauer ($8,300): The Colorado Avalanche are projected to start Grubauer against the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday night. The Avalanche's goalie has been under siege of late but delivering quality performances. He stopped 40 of 42 shots in the back end of a home and home with the Chicago Blackhawks. Yes, he took the loss in overtime but put his team in a position to win. Vegas is a high-shot output team that can easily garner 30-35 shots even on the road. This could be a good position to try and go with Grubauer as a GPP play. The Avalanche goalie is a bit high-priced but not outrageously so. See who starts for the Boston Bruins against the New York Rangers as well. They will be expensive but feature the best chance at a win.

High-Priced Skaters

Patrice Bergeron ($8,300): Bergeron faces a Rangers team that is just playing out the string and it shows. They are allowing tons of high-danger chances and nearly 38 shots per 60 on the road since February 1st. This includes yielding a slate-worst 3.81 goals per game on the road and 3.8 goals per game over their previous five contests. The Boston line one stack will be in full play here but taking parts over the whole may be a wiser approach. Bergeron has topped 18 FanDuel points in five straight contests, which means he delivers value. Auston Matthews ($8,600) is still a good choice against a Philadelphia Flyers all but eliminated from playoff contention. Also, Tyler Seguin ($8.200) against a Calgary Flames team that allows over three goals a game on the road is a bridge that could be worth crossing.

Jakub Voracek ($7,500): This is a game that expects to be entertaining and high-scoring. Neither team can defend much of late -- in all phases. Also, Voracek has put together three quality games in a row. The second of those featured four scoring chances, but unfortunately Voracek could not find the back of the net. Consistent creation is encouraging for the winger who went through long stretches of the season without them. Toronto keeps bleeding goals allowed. This could be a bit of a cure for what ails the Flyers' offense of late -- nine goals in their last five contests. Brad Marchand ($8,500) and Mitchell Marner ($8,000) are also solid options on Wednesday night. Both carry multiple real-world point potential.

Value Skaters

Tyson Jost ($3,900): Jost is a dicey play on Wednesday night against the Golden Knights. He plays about 13-14 minutes a night for Colorado but has been generating 2-3 scoring chances per game of late. He fired 3-plus shots in each of his last five contests. Jost can truly play anywhere on the top six, so watch the game flow to see where he ends up playing. The pivot has the ability to pass on a dime from anywhere. Radek Faksa ($4,100) could be an intriguing choice given he's facing a Calgary Flames team that is willing to trade goals and scoring chances.

Colin Wilson ($3,100): Wilson continues to get ample top-six ice time with some power-play time as well. The production has improved some as Wilson has four real-world points in his preceding four games. There is risk because Wilson does not hit the net a lot. Part of his low shot output is from his overbearing tendency to create plays instead of just letting the game come to him. His price is that of a true punt play that negates a good bit of the risk on Wednesday night. There are a few other players to consider, including David Backes ($3,200) and Brendan Lemieux ($3,600), who now sees top-line ice time with the Rangers.
