3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 10/11/19
If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, these players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars.
Ondrej Kase, Winger, Anaheim Ducks
FanDuel Price: $3,900
I really don't want to write up Ondrej Kase every slate, but if he is going to continue to be priced at a ridiculous bargain, it will be hard to ignore. To that point, Kase is the top point-per-dollar skater value on the slate, per our projections.
The Anaheim Ducks are on the tail-end of a back-to-back, which is always a bit of a concern, but they'll face Columbus Blue Jackets' goalie Joonas Korpisalo who has a career .906 save percentage (SV%) and a 2.90 goals against average (GAA).
Since the beginning of last season, Kase has averaged over three shots per game and scored at a 30-goal and 55-point pace.
Rasmus Ristolainen, Defenseman, Buffalo Sabres
FanDuel Price: $4,400
Rasmus Ristolainen is the second-highest point-per-dollar defenseman value on the slate, per our projections. In addition, he has the fifth-highest outright points projection among defenseman. The Buffalo Sabres have a home game tonight, and while Ristolainen plays on the second power-play unit now rather than the first, he still has plenty of upside.
Outside of his potential offensive abilities, he generates over two shots per game and over one-and-a-half blocks per game, which gives him a decent floor in games in which he doesn't hit the scoresheet.
The visiting Florida Panthers will be putting in their 10 million dollar goaltender, Sergei Bobrovsky, who has struggled immensely this season.
Petr Mrazek, Goaltender, Carolina Hurricanes
FanDuel Price: $7,800
The price tag in isolation is relatively high, but Petr Mrazek is the fourth-priced goaltender but tied for the highest points projection among goaltenders. This makes him the best point-per-dollar goaltender value on the slate as the Carolina Hurricanes host the New York Islanders.
Last season, Mrazek had a respectable .914 SV% and a 2.39 GAA in his first season in Carolina, which earned him the starting gig this season.
The Islanders are not expected to be very good this season, but their 11 goals in 4 games isn't terrible. The Hurricanes are the much better team, so worst-case scenario, Mrazek should at least pick up the win tonight.
