5 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 10/24/19

Dylan Strome is far too cheap for the role he has on the Chicago Blackhawks. What other values should you be targeting tonight?

If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, these players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars.

Dylan Strome, Center, Chicago Blackhawks

FanDuel Price: $4,900

The Chicago Blackhawks have a very interesting second line with Dylan Strome centering Patrick Kane and Kirby Dach. He was incredible last season after being acquired by the Blackhawks, putting up 17 goals and 51 points in 58 games. However, he's struggling a bit this season with just one goal and four points in seven games.

In addition to the second line, he plays on the top power-play unit together with all of the studs, including Kane, Alex DeBrincat, Jonathan Toews, and Erik Gustafsson. This gives him ample opportunity to produce offensively and proved him with some solid upside.

Ryan Dzingel, Winger, Carolina Hurricanes

FanDuel Price: $4,800

The Carolina Hurricanes visit the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight — a team that went through a ton of offseason changes, including losing their best forward and starting goaltender. New starter Joonas Korpisalo has struggled a bit, posting a 2.70 goals against average and .905 save percentage.

Ryan Dzingel was acquired by Columbus at the trade deadline last year for their playoff run but left for Carolina via free agency. He's slated to skate on the Hurricanes third line at even strength with Erik Haula and Martin Necas, but he plays on the top power-play unit with even strength linemate, Haula, along with Andrei Svechnikov, Teuvo Teravainen, and Dougie Hamilton.

Conor Garland, Winger, Arizona Coyotes

FanDuel Price: $3,300

Conor Garland put up 12 goals and 25 points in 21 games in the AHL last season while managing just 18 points in 43 games at the NHL level. However, 13 of his 18 points were goals, which is encouraging. He's slated to play on the second line at even strength with Christian Dvorak and Nick Schmaltz while having a spot on the second power-play unit.

Garland does shoot a bit, which is nice to see, as he averaged 2.51 shots per game last season. Those numbers are down a bit to just two shots per game this season. Hopefully, he can get some things going now that he's playing in the top-six for an Arizona Coyotes team that averages a surprising 32.8 shots per game — 11th-most in the NHL.

Vince Dunn, Defense, St. Louis Blues

FanDuel Price: $4,000

The Los Angeles Kings are allowing 3.78 goals against per game — the second-worst mark in the NHL. What makes this especially terrible is the fact that they're allowing just 28.0 shots against per game, which is second-best. Needless to say, their goaltending has been horrific.

Vince Dunn plays on the third defense pair at even strength but plays on the top power-play unit, which is very beneficial at this price tag. The St. Louis Blues have a struggling 18.5 percent success rate on the power play, which is 18th in the NHL. However, the opposing Kings have just a 75.8 percent kill rate on the penalty kill, which ranks 22nd.

Robin Lehner, Goaltender, Chicago Blackhawks

FanDuel Price: $7,700

Robin Lehner was a beast last season for the New York Islanders, putting up an elite 2.13 goals against average and .930 save percentage. The fact that he ended up going to free agency was somewhat shocking. In a rather surprising move, he signed just a one-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks, but he's been great for them.

In his first three starts, Lehner has posted a 1.93 GAA and a .943 SV%, proving that perhaps betting on himself was the right play. Tonight he'll take on a Philadelphia Flyers team that is scoring at a pretty league average rate right now with 3.00 goals per game.
