5 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 11/7/19
If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, these players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars.
Nico Hischier, Center, New Jersey Devils
FanDuel Price: $4,800
He can't manage to get himself onto the top power-play unit, but Nico Hischier has picked things up as of late and has since been promoted to the top line at even strength. He now centers Taylor Hall and Kyle Palmieri in his increased role on the team.
Hischier has started to heat up a bit as he has picked up five points in his last four games, including goals in back-to-back games. Their opponent — the Calgary Flames — have been pretty average this season, which makes this an intriguing matchup.
Conor Garland, Winger, Arizona Coyotes
FanDuel Price: $4,000
This may come as a complete surprise to you, but Conor Garland has 7 goals and 10 points in 15 games this season, which came as quite the surprise to me. He is currently playing on what I would consider the Arizona Coyotes' second line with Nick Schmaltz and Clayton Keller.
Garland projects as the fourth-best points-per-dollar winger on the slate, per our projections. In addition, he does play on the Coyotes' second power-play unit -- not necessarily a unit that has been great, but it is always a boost to play on the power play. The Columbus Blue Jackets' penalty kill has just a 76.1 percent success rate, which ranks 24th.
Anthony Duclair, Winger, Ottawa Senators
FanDuel Price: $4,200
Anthony Duclair always ranks near the top of our points-per-dollar projections, especially among wingers, and tonight is no different as he sits sixth. He remains on the Ottawa Senators' top line at even-strength, as well as being slotted on the top power-play unit.
The Senators take on a team just as bad as they are in the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings are allowing a league-worst 4.00 goals against per game. The Senators are only scoring 2.71 goals per game, which ranks 22nd, but this matchup is too good to ignore.
Jeff Petry, Defense, Montreal Canadiens
FanDuel Price: $4,300
This price makes no sense. Jeff Petry has put up 10 points in 15 games while firing off 42 shots and picking up 14 blocks. These are fantastic numbers and he is far, far too cheap. He plays on the top power-play unit, and even though the Montreal Canadiens power play ranks 16th, it still puts him in a great spot.
As one might expect, Petry grades out fantastically from a points-per-dollar standpoint, sitting second in our projections. The matchup is far from great against the Philadelphia Flyers, but Petry's role is far too good for this price point.
Pavel Francouz, Goaltender, Colorado Avalanche
FanDuel Price: $7,400
He has six NHL games under his belt at the age of 29, so you should never really expect too much from Pavel Francouz. However, his .919 save percentage is pretty good despite his below-average 2.73 goals against average.
The Colorado Avalanche are banged up as they're missing both Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen, but Francouz does grade out well from a points-per-dollar standpoint, ranking second among goaltenders.
The matchup is very tough, as the Avs host the Nashville Predators. The Preds lead the NHL with an average of 4.00 goals per game, but Francouz is projected as the seventh-highest scoring goaltender among 22 going tonight, which is hard to ignore.
