NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Friday 11/8/19
A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?
It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.
Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalie to Target
Tuukka Rask ($9,100): The Boston Bruins and Rask had a tough night against Montreal on Wednesday night as Rask allowed five goals in all in defeat. Up until then, Rask could do nothing wrong with a save percentage that was around .950. What is a better way to bounce back? Naturally, play the Detroit Red Wings. Detroit is 1-11-1 in their last 13 games and suffered a defeat on Wednesday by four goals. It was the fourth consecutive game where Detroit had lost by four or more goals. Detroit has been outscored 22-5 in that span. See who starts for the Edmonton Oilers as a possible secondary option.
High-Priced Skaters
Connor McDavid ($8,900): McDavid is going up against an unrested New Jersey Devils squad who just gave up five goals to the Calgary Flames. It does not matter if it is a three-game slate, McDavid will be owned at a very high level. Tonight easily could approach 50% or more in some GPP's and cash tournaments. McDavid has goals in consecutive games with 11 shots and ten scoring chances in that span. Look to the Oilers' power play tonight as Calgary even tallied twice on the man advantage. Patrice Bergeron has to be another viable play from Boston as the Bruins first line will be heavily owned as well.
David Pastrnak ($9,300): Yes, Pastrnak is a chalk play, but he keeps scoring, so he is an absolute plug-and-play on Friday night against Detroit. The winger has goals in four straight games and 30 real-world points in his previous 13 contests. How do you not roster him somewhere? The last time a winger was $9,500 on FanDuel was Alex Ovechkin, and Pastrnak is right up there. There are always Leon Draisaitl ($8,800) and Brad Marchand ($8,600) if one wants to spend down a little.
Value Skaters
Zach Senyshyn ($3,000): This is plainly a punt play as Senyshyn slots into the middle-six of Boston and comes at minimum price. He had two assists against Montreal and one shot on net. Do not be alarmed by the AHL transaction as it was a paper move. Senyshyn expects to play in Detroit tonight. There is always Blake Coleman ($3,300) if one needs a quick fix for a value price.
Zack Kassian ($4,000): The forward plays at even strength with McDavid and Draisaitl. Little else needs to be said here. On the other hand, Kassian scored a goal in his last game versus the St. Louis Blues with four shots on net. That is the way the rugged forward must play every night. More often than not, he has this year and has been rewarded. See if Nikita Gusev plays from New Jersey as he might be a wildcard of sorts (also scored last night).
