3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 11/20/19
If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, those players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars.
Lars Eller, Center, Washington Capitals
FanDuel Price: $4,400
With Nicklas Backstrom out, Lars Eller is expected to slot in on the second line with T.J. Oshie and Jakub Vrana on his wings. In addition to the new role at even strength, Eller could end up on the top power-play unit.
The Washington Capitals visit the New York Rangers this evening and that is an elite matchup for the Caps. The Rangers are allowing 3.61 goals against per game which ranks as the second-worst in the NHL. In addition, the Rangers have a horrendous 72.9 percent penalty kill which ranks as the fourth-worst. On the other side, the Capitals have an elite power play as they convert at a 24.3 percent rate, which is the fifth-best. They'll take a hit with Backstrom out, but it's still a great spot.
Anthony Duclair, Winger, Ottawa Senators
FanDuel Price: $4,400
No matter what Anthony Duclair does, his price does not seem to increase. He's got 9 goals and 13 points in 21 games which is pretty solid. In addition, he has fired off 59 shots on goal which increases his floor.
Duclair plays on a line at even strength with Logan Brown and Brady Tkachuk, which is a pretty decent line. In addition, he also plays on the top power-play unit which sounds great at first glance, but the Ottawa Senators have the worst power play in the league — converting just on 8.3 percent of their opportunities.
Jacob Trouba, Defense, New York Rangers
FanDuel Price: $4,400
The offense has not really been there for Jacob Trouba this season with just 7 points 18 games. However, he does produce across the board in peripheral stats with shots and blocks. He is averaging 2.78 shots per game and 2.17 blocks per game which gives him a very solid floor.
Trouba is the second-highest points-per-dollar defenseman, as per our projections. While the matchup isn't great against the Capitals, this is such a short slate that essentially everybody is in play.
