3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 12/9/19

Jake DeBrusk is a free square tonight. Fade at your own risk.

If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, those players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars.

Derick Brassard, Center, New York Islanders

FanDuel Price: $4,900

He's playing on what would probably be considered the top line for the New York Islanders as they head to Tampa to take on the Lightning. Derick Brassard will center Anders Lee and Jordan Eberle at even strength, which is certainly solid.

In addition to playing on the top even strength line, Brassard is on the team's second power-play, which gives him some decent upside. He is the sixth-highest points-per-dollar center tonight, as per our projections.

Jake DeBrusk, Winger, Boston Bruins

FanDuel Price: $540

There isn't much to this one. Clearly, they missed a zero when putting in Jake DeBrusk's price, and he's obviously mispriced at $540. This likely results in insane ownership, but you might as well take the free square. There is merit to fading him in tournaments, of course, but the price is silly.

DeBrusk plays on the Boston Bruins second line at even strength as well as playing on the team's top power-play unit. They visit the Ottawa Senators tonight, which is one of the better matchups in the NHL.

Noah Hanifin, Defense, Calgary Flames

FanDuel Price: $3,900

Noah Hanifin is essentially reliant on peripheral stats to be relevant from a fantasy perspective as he has just 7 real-life points in 31 games. He averages about two shots per game and one block per game, but he could pile up the blocks tonight as the Calgary Flames head to Colorado to take on the Colorado Avalanche.

The Avs are starting to get healthy from an offensive standpoint and should be able to take advantage of a Flames team that, while they are riding a four-game winning streak since Geoff Ward has taken over, has been pretty poor all season long.
