5 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 12/12/19

Morgan Rielly is one of the lowest prices we've seen. Who else is a bargain tonight?

If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, those players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars.

Kyle Turris, Center, Nashville Predators

FanDuel Price: $3,700

After being a healthy scratch for 7 games, Kyle Turris has played in three straight and been solid. He picked up two points in his first game and none in the following two, while averaging two shots per game. He's playing on the second line at even strength with Matt Duchene and Mikael Granlund. .

It's unfortunate that Turris' wingers are both on the teams' top power-play unit, and he plays on the second unit, but at least he is on the power play.

Ondrej Kase, Winger, Anaheim Ducks

FanDuel Price: $3,600

I swore I would stop writing up Ondrej Kase, but he is far and away, the highest-rated points-per-dollar winger, as per our projections. Once I saw the gap between Kase and number two, it was tough to ignore and tough to fade him. The Anaheim Ducks host the Los Angeles Kings which is a solid matchup, but the Ducks are 25th in goals-for which is not the greatest endorsement.

The Kings have the second-worst penalty kill (PK), successfully killing off just 73.5 percent of their penalties. While the Ducks power play (PP) is far from good — ranking 30th with just a 11.4 percent conversion rate — hopefully, they can take advantage of the brutal opposing PK.

Josh Anderson, Winger, Columbus Blue Jackets

FanDuel Price: $3,000

Let's be honest, Josh Anderson has been a disaster this season. He has just 1 goal and 4 points in 24 games, but there is a bit of a sense of optimism as of late. While he still has just 1 point in his last 5 games and just 2 points in his last 19 games, the shot volume over the last two weeks is encouraging. Anderson has averaged 3.83 shots per game over the last six games which is the hope that he is starting to get a bit more confidence offensively and will eventually start to put the puck in the net.

Morgan Rielly, Defense, Toronto Maple Leafs

FanDuel Price: $4,900

At $4,900, this has to be the cheapest that Morgan Rielly has been this season and possibly last season as well. He has been taken off the top power-play unit which is obviously a concern, but he produces enough value at even strength and still has a roll on the second power-play unit.

Rielly has four or more shots in four of his last seven games which gives him a very solid floor if he doesn't get on the scoresheet.

Neal Pionk, Defense, Winnipeg Jets

FanDuel Price: $4,300

Neal Pionk has found himself on the Winnipeg Jets top power-play unit which is obviously fantastic when you consider who else is on this unit. Blake Wheeler, Mark Scheifele, Patrik Laine, and Kyle Connor make up the rest of the unit and their matchup against the Detroit Red Wings is as good as it gets.

The Red Wings have the worst PK in the NHL, successfully killing off just 72.5 percent of their penalties. Pionk has 5 points in his last 7 games along with 23 shots and 7 blocks. He has a solid floor and an even better ceiling in this premium matchup.
