4 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 12/23/19
If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, those players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars
Dylan Strome, Center, Chicago Blackhawks
FanDuel Price: $5,000
Dylan Strome certainly bounces all over the lineup. Tonight he's expected to center the third line at even strength, which consists of Alexander Nylander and John Quenneville on his wings. The one great thing is that Strome plays on the top power-play unit.
The Chicago Blackhawks haven't had a very successful power play, unfortunately, but there is so much talent on it that it should be better. They have a solid matchup against the New Jersey Devils 21st-ranked penalty kill.
Alex Killorn, Winger, Tampa Bay Lightning
FanDuel Price: $5,000
With the Tampa Bay Lightning going with a bit more of a balanced approach to their top six, Alex Killorn has been playing on the wing on a line with Steven Stamkos and Anthony Cirelli. In addition to this solid even strength line, Killorn plays on the top power-play unit with Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point, and Victor Hedman. That's a stacked unit.
The Lightning's power play has been great, too, converting on an elite 28.0 percent of their opportunities. This is good enough for second-best in the NHL, and they look to continue that dominance as they host their state-rival Florida Panthers.
Anthony Duclair, Winger, Ottawa Senators
FanDuel Price: $4,900
In the month of December, no player has more goals than Anthony Duclair. He's scored an incredible 11 goals in 10 games and has been on an absolute tear to end 2019. He somehow is still a very reasonable price and has a home matchup against the Buffalo Sabres, who will have Linus Ullmark in net.
Duclair is also on the top power-play unit, and while this unit ranks dead last in the NHL, it is still a beneficial offensive opportunity.
Neal Pionk, Defense, Winnipeg Jets
FanDuel Price: $3,900
Neal Pionk has a very surprising 21 points in 36 games. In addition to this solid offensive output, he has 79 shots and 38 blocks while playing on the Winnipeg Jets top power-play unit. He is far too successful for this price tag to remain this low, and due to this, he's a great value.
He'll take on the Montreal Canadiens penalty kill that kills off just 75.4 percent of their penalties and ranks 27th in the NHL.
