3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 3/12/21
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate, where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs, as well.
Friday night has five games on the schedule. It is time to go find the values!
Adam Henrique, Center, Anaheim Ducks
FanDuel Salary: $4,100
The Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks are both quite defensively challenged. That is what makes the matchup so hard to gauge when it comes to value. However, Adam Henrique has shown the ability to exceed the value in the last several games. He racked up three more scoring chances on Wednesday night versus the Los Angeles Kings and even enjoyed a couple of high-danger chances. They just did not find the back of the net.
Henrique has real-world points in three of the last four contests. The Anaheim center and his linemates should have little trouble in finding opportunities against a Sharks team which can allow multiple goals in a blink of an eye. Both teams can, which makes for value possibilities on both sides.
Now, can Henrique find a way to hit double-digit FanDuel points? That is possible in another "Battle Of California."
Elsewhere, Gabriel Vilardi ($3,700) could again be of use on Friday night versus a Colorado team that still is missing Cale Makar.
Tyler Pitlick, Wing, Arizona Coyotes
FanDuel Salary: $4,000
The Arizona Coyotes' forward plays hard, physical hockey. On a top-six that sorely needs that presence, Tyler Pitlick has found a niche and taken advantage of it. He has three goals in his last three games. Typically, these waves from the winger do not last long, which is why this carries a ton of risk. Now, Pitlick has played 16-plus minutes in seven consecutive contests, so the chances will be there.
Again, think of Zach Hyman in Toronto when looking at Pitlick -- this is just a lighter version from a point potential perspective. Minnesota can be vulnerable defensively, and Pitlick does like to shoot, so bounces can happen. Bounces like on Wednesday night, when the winger scored Arizona's only goal.
Marcus Foligno ($3,700) has some assist potential for the Minnesota Wild at home versus the Coyotes. He played more than 17 minutes in the Wednesday win against Vegas.
Alec Martinez, Defenseman, Vegas Golden Knights
FanDuel Salary: $3,900
Defensively, the job of Alec Martinez is simple -- block shots, get a few shots on goal, and maybe assist on a goal. That's it! No pressure, right? Wrong.
Value options are very erratic on Friday night yet again. This five-game slate features a bevy of potential traps. Even Martinez has considerable risk considering Dylan Coghlan -- of all people -- had a hat trick against Minnesota on Wednesday night. Martinez is a bit safer of a pick with three double-digit FanDuel performances in his last five outings.
Erik Brannstrom ($3,600) could be an option from Ottawa tonight against an Edmonton team that has shown bouts of severe inconsistency.
