3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on Tuesday 5/18/21

Where should you turn for low-salary production on Tuesday night's three-match NHL DFS slate?

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate, where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs, as well.

Tuesday night brings us three more playoff games. So, what values can we find?

Ryan Hartman, Center, Minnesota Wild

FanDuel Salary: $3,600

On a three-match slate, value options are pretty limited. Ryan Hartman isn't a bad value pick at center.

He had five shots on goal last time out and should play a top-six role again on Tuesday night while possibly being double-shifted at times. Hartman definitely did everything but score a goal on Sunday. Vegas had a difficult time keeping him from getting to the front of net. It was only Marc-Andre Fleury who thwarted him on several occasions.

Elsewhere, Jean-Gabriel Pageau ($4,000) is still a viable option from the New York Islanders -- possibly in a stack with Kyle Palmieri.

Owen Tippett, Wing, Florida Panthers

FanDuel Salary: $3,600

This player plays how few minutes? What? Yes, Owen Tippett is young, to say the least, and playing the Tampa Bay Lightning means his ice time has to be heavily monitored.

Tippett played fewer than 10 minutes in Game 1 but made quite an impression with a goal and an assist. He also had two shots on goal with one blocked shot and two scoring chances. The winger was all over the ice and not afraid to throw his weight around.

The Florida Panthers' forward has a very low floor, but maybe he gets more ice time after his good showing last time out.

You can also look to Frederick Gaudreau ($3,200) of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

MacKenzie Weegar, Defenseman, Florida Panthers

FanDuel Salary: $4,200

Mackenzie Weegar usually has a reasonable floor for a defenseman, and his salary is pretty modest on this slate The Florida defender has real-world points in three of his last four games.

This is a reasonable matchup as defense seems to go out the window a bit when Tampa Bay and Florida get together. Weegar had a goal and assist with three shots and three blocked shots in the two previous games before the playoffs started. He will be looking to rebound after playing just 19 minutes in Game 1. He had averaged closer to 22 minutes a night over his previous six games.

Monitor the status of Brian Dumoulin ($4,300) just to make sure he plays, but you can also check out Ryan McDonagh ($4,000) as he will see a little bit of power-play time (even if it is the second unit).
