NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 5/26/21

Sidney Crosby needs to score more to keep the Penguins alive tonight. Who else should you build your lineups around?

NHL DFS is similar to MLB in terms of how you build lineups, view stacking, and value players.

Two main points to always focus on in NHL DFS are what lines the players are on and making sure the goalies you are rostering are confirmed as the starters. Two of the best resources for that are LeftWingLock.com or DailyFaceOff.com. That is where you can find updated forward and power-play lines for each team, along with which goalies are confirmed as the starters.

Let's jump in to take a look at today's slate and some players to consider for your lineups.

Goalie to Target

Marc-Andre Fleury ($8,200): Fleury gave up three goals in Game 5 to the Minnesota Wild, but he has a chance to bounce back tonight. Not only was it three goals, but it was three goals in less than 8:00 minutes of game time! Yeah, that's bad, there's no other way to put it. In the first four games of this series, Fleury has been lights out amazing. He had allowed a total of 4 goals in the four games, coming away with a single shutout and 30 saves or more in three of the four games. He simply had an off game the other night, and I'm fully willing to go right back to him tonight.

High-Priced Skaters

Sidney Crosby ($7,800): It's an elimination game for the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight, and that means they need more from Crosby. Five games so far against the New York Islanders and only two NHL points for Crosby. That's simply not good enough for a player on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, not to mention one of the best players in the last 10 years. The Penguins need more from him in the scoring department because it's a do-or-die scenario. The one silver lining is the fact he has 17 shots in the five games, which is promising considering the Islanders are normally known as a strong defensive team.

Jonathan Huberdeau ($8,100): Huberdeau has been nothing short of amazing in the Florida Panthers' first-round series against the Tampa Bay Lightning. In the five games, Huberdeau has 10 points and 16 shots on goal. That's absolutely elite production from him, and he's a player you can trust in all formats tonight. Even if you are looking to stack another team -- Vegas, Tampa, or Pittsburgh -- you should still look to Huberdeau as a one-off option. This game versus the Lightning is also the only game on the slate that has an over/under sitting at 6.5, giving us a sign we are in for more scoring yet again.

Value Skaters

Mikhail Sergachev ($3,700): Sticking with the only game that features a 6.5 over/under, we turn to Tampa Bay with Sergachev on defense. He is under $4,000, seeing time on the second power-play unit, and has racked up 8 shots on goal and 10 blocked shots in the first five games of this series. He's only added one assist in this time, but the offensive opportunity is there for him while being a solid point-per-dollar value in your lineups.
