3 NHL FanDuel Studs to Target on Wednesday 11/10/21
In any daily fantasy lineup, spending up in any daily fantasy lineup is how to get the superstars and the highest upside players in your lineup.
In NHL DFS, it’s different from paying up in sports like NBA or NFL. Someone can be one of the highest salaried players at his position and put up a total dud of a performance, and paying that much for him would be a huge mistake. Let’s make sure we are paying up in the right spots when building our lineups tonight.
Wednesday night gives us three games on the NHL slate. Let's look at some studs.
Sean Couturier, Center, Philadelphia Flyers
FanDuel Salary: $7,900
Sean Couturier suddenly gains a little more value on Wednesday night potentially due to a minor injury to John Tavares. Why? This is because if Tavares is held out, some DFS players will gravitate their draft percentage towards Auston Matthews. Diverting back to Couturier may be a better move considering the Philadelphia Flyers' center has five goals and seven assists on the season already.
Though Toronto can be sometimes good at not allowing goals, they still rank 22nd in the NHL with 37 goals allowed in 13 games. They're also ninth in Corsi Allowed (562) this season.
The matchup is a good one for Philadelphia potentially. Yet, Toronto is also projected to score 3.41 goals on Wednesday despite the injury news, so this game is a plus target for stacks as well.
Stacking Philadelphia is pretty simple as Justin Braun provides some value and cost relief, and Claude Giroux provides a potential power-play boost.
Kirill Kaprizov, Wing, Minnesota Wild
FanDuel Salary: $7,100
The Minnesota Wild have come back to win in 7 of their 11 games this season. Kirill Kaprizov and company are hoping for a better start against Arizona on Wednesday night.
Kaprizov and the top Minnesota line are rolling steadily along over the past five games. The winger has four real-world points along with 24 shots on goal, 21 scoring chances, and 2 goals.
Look for players like Mathew Dumba and Mats Zuccarello for value stacking possibilities. Zuccarello enters at just $4,700 on FanDuel and will help salary utilization on Wednesday night.
Roman Josi, Defenseman, Nashville Predators
FanDuel Salary: $7,000
With Filip Forsberg out for weeks potentially, and the Nashville Predators offense having some issues scoring goals, Roman Josi becomes more essential on rosters -- especially on short slates. Josi has 39 shots in 12 games that have produced 4 goals and 12 real-life points. Three of those goals are on the man-advantage, and that has been a supreme asset for the Preds.
Josi leads our projections with 14.6 points on Wednesday night by 2.6 points. Furthermore, looking at players like Matt Duchene can save a bit of salary and still help fill out a stack.
