3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on Monday 11/29/21

Tanner Pearson has quietly snuck onto Vancouver's top line entering a great matchup with Montreal. What other value plays help us save salary on the four-game slate?

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate, where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs, as well.

Let's search for value.

Travis Boyd, Center, Arizona Coyotes

FanDuel Salary: $3,800

The top line Travis Boyd experiment has been successful over the last five games. Boyd is playing 18-19 minutes a night and also is on the top-unit power play. He has five real-world points in the past five games.

Boyd has some undeniable risk, and it's mostly tied to the general expectation of his offense. The Coyotes have generated just 45 high-danger chances the past two weeks, which is the eighth-worst mark in the NHL. Still, his supreme role results in a huge floor, whereas this issue affects his ceiling.

Monday night, many may look at Yanni Gourde ($4,000) of Seattle for good reason, but do not sleep on Boyd because of his team.

Tanner Pearson, Wing, Vancouver Canucks

FanDuel Salary: $3,900

Can Tanner Pearson stay on the power-play unit for Vancouver Canucks? He scored on the power play against the Boston Bruins on Sunday night.

Despite getting mostly middle-six ice time, the winger has at least three shots on goal and three scoring chances in three of those five games. There should be some opportunities for Pearson against a bottom-five penalty kill (68.6%) in the Montreal Canadiens.

Alas, Pearson could offer a little more value than expected on an unusual Monday night slate.

He's currently on the top line in even-strength situations with Bo Horvat and Conor Garland as well, so the trio make for an affordable stack entering Monday's softer matchup.

Alexander Romanov, Defenseman, Montreal Canadiens

FanDuel Salary: $3,700

The Canadiens are at home and playing the aforementioned Canucks, and blue-liner Alexander Romanov is an interesting target.

If he keeps getting top-four ice time, it is safe to say he will not go 12 games without a real-world point the rest of this season. Romanov has just a goal and three assists on the season, but he has 27 shots in just 22 games this season.

With Romanov going up against Vancouver like we said, he could provide some deceptive value not just at even-strength despite the lack of a power-play role.

It's best to save salary at the forward spots tonight, but Romanov works in a pinch.
