3 Daily Fantasy NHL Stacks for Tuesday 11/30/21
In daily fantasy hockey, stacking is a key strategy in tournaments. We want to correlate our lineups with up to four players to maximize our upside, as if one player on a line is scoring goals, it's likely that his linemates are getting assists as well. Ideally, we'll want players that will get a lot of ice time together on an even-strength line and a power-play line. Two good resources for line combinations are LeftWingLock.com and DailyFaceoff.com, so be sure to check those sites for updated line information.
We've got a ton of moving parts on this eight-game slate, and some really interesting stacks we can roster.
Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins haven't seemed to be dominating as many slates this year as in seasons' past -- partially because they've played the second-fewest games in the league. They will be on everyone's radar tonight and for good reason.
The normal "perfection line" has a change to it in this game. Brad Marchand is suspended for this game, but the Bruins have a great option to replace him. It looks like Taylor Hall ($5,800) will slot in on the left wing for Marchand. Hall is a former MVP of the league, and now playing on the top line and top power-play unit, becomes probably the best play on the slate. David Pastrnak ($8,800) has been playing great with just two games under 14 FanDuel points in his last nine. Patrice Bergeron ($8,300) has five points in his last three games and could have another big night tonight.
The Bruins play the Detroit Red Wings at home in this game. Detroit has improved this season but not so much on the defensive side. They've allowed the third-most high danger chances per 60 minutes in the league and the sixth-most goals per 60. Patrice Bergeron had four goals the last time these teams met, and Detroit will struggle to shut down this line.
Boston has an implied team total of 3.22 goals tonight (the second-highest total on the slate). With the discount that Taylor Hall offers, you might be able to fit Charlie McAvoy ($6,800) to get four pieces of this Bruins' power play that could go off in this game.
Nashville Predators
We haven't wanted to stack the Nashville Predators much this season. Now, with the way some of the players have been playing and the way their lines are set up, they look like a good stack for tonight.
The Predators have been boosted by the return of Filip Forsberg ($6,400), who has points in each of his three games since returning to the lineup. Matt Duchene ($6,900) is experiencing a bit of a renaissance after many people left him for dead, as he leads the team with 13 goals this season. Mikael Granlund ($4,800) has been great alongside Duchene as well with 21 points in 21 games. Duchene and Granlund are Nashville's leading scorers and now will play with Forsberg at even strength and on the top power play.
Of course, any Nashville stack can include Roman Josi ($7,100). He's one of the best defensemen in the league, and is second in goals and third in points among blueliners this season. He's on the first power play with all of the forwards we want to play as well, making him a perfect fourth element to this stack.
Nashville plays the Columbus Blue Jackets at home. We don't think of Columbus being weak defensively, but they have been allowing a ton of shots. They've allowed the third-most shots against per 60 minutes and the sixth-most expected goals per 60.
The Predators have an implied team total at three goals tonight and really make a nice, fully-correlated stack.
Washington Capitals
We've liked stacking the Washington Capitals all season, and it's been working out pretty well. In this game, we see them as underdogs, but it still makes sense to stack them tonight.
The first line that was put together last week has stuck together. Alex Ovechkin ($9,800) is playing with Evgeny Kuznetsov ($8,100) and rookie Aliaksei Protas ($3,000). In the three games since playing together, Ovechkin has seven points, including a hat trick. Kuznetsov has five points, with three assists in Ovechkin's hat trick game. Protas is finding his feet with this line, and he had two assists two games ago along with his first NHL goal on Sunday.
The matchup against the Florida Panthers may look like a tough one, but there are reasons for optimism. Ovechkin's hat trick and Kuznetsov's three-point game last week happened against these Panthers. Florida will still be without Aleksander Barkov as well, who is one of the best defensive forwards in the league.
John Carlson ($6,600) leads all defensemen in points with 22, so he can be used in this stack as well. Washington still sports a healthy 2.87 implied goal total despite being underdogs, and with the way Ovechkin has been playing this season, another huge performance is not out of the question by any means.
