3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on Wednesday 12/15/21
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs as well.
Let's search for some salary-saving value on Wednesday night.
Sam Steel, Center, Anaheim Ducks
FanDuel Salary: $3,800
It is nice to see Sam Steel getting to play some top minutes -- even if it comes at the expense of an Adam Henrique injury.
The Anaheim Ducks' center still does not get much in the way of power-play time, but playing 17-plus minutes a night the last two games with Troy Terry is very encouraging.
Seattle gives up more scoring chances and shots on the road, but they are a more disciplined team -- to a fault -- than most in terms of penalties. However, they do yield 3.50 goals per game and did play last night in San Jose.
Steel could be quite a valuable option in this type of matchup on Wednesday.
Lawson Crouse, Wing, Arizona Coyotes
FanDuel Salary: $4,100
In more of a contrarian play on Wednesday night, Lawson Crouse of the Arizona Coyotes is an option.
Crouse snapped a long nine-game goal drought on Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers, and Crouse haș the ability to perform better than what he has shown. Before this latest slump, Crouse was on a streak of six real-world points in seven games. He averaged over three scoring chances a game in that period.
He has played more than 16 minutes a night in six consecutive games, and the Coyotes are largely low-salaried as a whole in a matchup with Rangers' third-stringer Keith Kinkaid.
Connor Murphy, Defenseman, Chicago Blackhawks
FanDuel Salary: $3,600
The Chicago Blackhawks' defenseman typically has a good floor when it comes to shots and blocked shots.
This has been a rough year for Murphy, who has battled several maladies and some inconsistent play. Can the defenseman start picking it up? Well, he did have a goal and assist against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He's also averaging 2.67 blocked shots per game over the last half-dozen contests.
Murphy is back to his usual top-four role and playing over 22 minutes a night. At the very least, he is near-minimum salaried and worth a shot against the Washington Capitals.
