3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on Monday 12/20/21

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs, as well.

Monday night is short and sweet value-wise. Let's go!

[Editor's note: Tonight's game between the Buffalo Sabres and Columbus Blue Jackets has been postponed.]

Cole Sillinger, Center, Columbus Blue Jackets

FanDuel Salary: $3,700

With three players, at press time, in COVID protocol, that directly boosts the value of a Cole Sillinger on Monday night.

Sillinger has cooled off a good bit with just a goal and assist in his last six games. More troubling is that the Columbus Blue Jacket has a mere eight shots and eight scoring chances in that span.

Though his minutes are that of a middle-six forward, Sillinger could see some power-play time tonight. With Buffalo allowing 3.47 goals per game, the center is at least worth a look tonight at his diminished salary.

Alex Tuch, Wing, Buffalo Sabres

FanDuel Salary: $3,800

Alex Tuch will make his debut for the Buffalo Sabres tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Tuch was traded from the Vegas Golden Knights in the Jack Eichel deal. He has top-six upside but seemed to fall out of favor easily with Vegas coach Pete DeBoer. The forward has not played a game since June 24th versus the Montreal Canadiens and has been on injured reserve to start the season. In 74 games last season, he had 22 goals and 20 assists.

He can play more than 17 minutes a night but may be eased into the lineup at first. At the very least, Tuch adds an element of speed to the Sabres' lineup.

John Klingberg, Defenseman, Dallas Stars

FanDuel Salary: $4,000

The Dallas Stars' defenseman is snapping out of his funk.

This has been a difficult year for John Klingberg. His defensive acumen has been called into question many times by media and fans alike. Some even want to show him the door. However, he does have four real-world points in his last three games. That included a goal and assist against the Chicago Blackhawks as Dallas went on to win 4-3 in overtime.

Klingberg has logged almost 52 minutes of ice time in his last two games. Is he being trusted more or is it because of COVID? That is an excellent question. One should still roster him regardless on Monday night.
