4 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on Tuesday 1/4/22
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate, where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs as well.
Eight games are on the schedule this Tuesday night. There is always more value on these slates.
Erik Haula, Center, Boston Bruins
FanDuel Salary: $3,900
Erik Haula is now playing on the second line for the Boston Bruins at even strength. His speed is a great asset, and the New Jersey Devils are susceptible to good team speed.
Haula scored a goal on his only opportunity Sunday against the Detroit Red Wings. That may get him a few more minutes than the 12 he saw in that one. Either way, New Jersey's goaltending has been horrendous of late with just an .872% save percentage over their last 10 games. The Devils have allowed 35 shots on goal against Boston in three of their last five matchups.
The risk with Haula is his floor. Sometimes he also favors passing over shooting. It can be frustrating. However, the second line with Taylor Hall has a chance to drive New Jersey as crazy as Boston's top line does.
Henrik Borgstrom, Wing, Chicago Blackhawks
FanDuel Salary: $3,900
Can Henrik Borgstrom keep it going?
Colorado does tend to forget to play defense some of the time, and the Chicago Blackhawks' forward should have more chances than usual on Tuesday. He has double-digit FanDuel points in each of his last three games and is playing on Chicago's top line at even strength. Borgstrom has seven scoring chances across his last two games.
He's easy to like at this salary.
Janis Moser, Defenseman, Arizona Coyotes
FanDuel Salary: $3,800
Janis Moser will not be on the radar of many on Tuesday -- even with his two-goal performance against the San Jose Sharks. That is because he plays for the league-worst Arizona Coyotes.
Moser does enjoy a somewhat favorable matchup versus the Winnipeg Jets, and he did have five goals and seven assists in 18 games with the Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL. The defenseman can produce when given the proper chance. His one-timer on the power-play is also worth taking note of. He played 22 minutes against San Jose and could see that much ice time on Tuesday even if Jakob Chychrun returns.
John Gibson, Goalie, Anaheim Ducks
FanDuel Salary: $7,200
John Gibson has a chance to steal a win against a Philadelphia Flyers team that has a crisis of confidence. Not that the Anaheim Ducks are much better right now, but Anaheim is 10-4-4 at home.
Gibson has played well despite enduring three consecutive losses post-Christmas break. He has faced a whopping 117 shots in that span and stopped 109 of them. The goaltender has received fewer than two goals of support over his last half-dozen starts.
The Ducks are facing a Philadelphia team that yields 35 shots and 3.22 goals per contest, and Philly will have a rusty Carter Hart in net for the Flyers. Both of those things should help Gibson's efforts to get a win.
